Search by map tools

map tool
  • Navigate to a location of interest by dragging and resizing the map.
  • The + and – can be used to zoom in and out.
  • Click to select one of the three drawing tools.
  • Click and drag your mouse over your area of interest to select it.
Rectangle Tool

To use the Rectangle tool, first, click the square icon from the map toolbar in the center of the screen. Next, click and hold down the mouse button on the starting location for the corner of the rectangle. Finally, drag the rectangle (with the mouse button still pressed) to the appropriate size and let go of the mouse button.

Polygon Tool

To use the Polygon Tool, first, click the Polygon icon the map toolbar in the center of the screen. Next, pick an area on the map that you would like to be part of the boundary of your search. Click to set the point on the map. Move the mouse to choose the next point of the boundary and click to set the point on the map. Continue in this manner to create the edges of your search boundary. To finish using the polygon tool (and execute the search) click the last point in the boundary at the same location the first point was made, or double-click the last point.

For all of these marquee search tools, the map will zoom to fit the shape drawn.

Circle Tool

To use the Circle Tool, first, click the Circle icon from the map toolbar in the center of the screen. Next, click and hold down the mouse button on the starting location for the middle of the circle. Finally, drag the circle (with the mouse button still pressed) to the appropriate size and let go of the mouse button.

Edit Tool

Edit your search boundary at any time. Note that this will re-run your search according to the new boundary.
